Someone will have to make some phone calls, and a time and place will need to be arranged.

You will also need some volunteers to help you prepare. You will need cards, poker chips, dealer buttons, tables, food, beverages, etc. Usually you can just divide up the chores among your guests. Surely they will not mind helping you out, especially since you are sacrificing your home for such great fun!

Make sure you post all the rules, including blind levels, payout structures, chipping up, and which games you will play. This is always good, and will avoid trouble and confusion later in the game. You will also need to post rules that will govern whether you will be playing limit or no limit, and whether you will allow rebuys, addons, or bounties.
